unknown. The exhilaration of discovery – traveling to new places and capturing different
perspectives on the world – is what I live for. It is the thrill of exploration that fuels my love for
adventure. Adventure enables me to immerse in nature’s beauty, break free from worries of the past, and be in absolute peace. I’ve dedicated my artwork to conveying adventure’s
rejuvenating and transformative power, and I hope that my stories will inspire others to seek out and appreciate adventure in its truest form.
Tranquil
Resting on the surface of Death Valley, where my hands can feel the jagged texture of the clay, I reflect upon the immensely calm, quiet, and serene desert that surrounds me. The absolute silence calmed my senses, soothed my mind, and allowed me to break loose from the chains of stress that accompanies daily life. To create a sense of fluidity in this composition, I ensured that the lines constructing each object in the image were vivid, but not too sharp.
Waves
This scene is filled with life – with fluid yet curvy movements and textures that excite the eye and energize the mind. The smooth curves and swirls of color on the rocks reminded me of the waves in an ocean – an abstract representation of waves. I chose to print my photograph on metal using the dye sublimation process because of the incredible depth and vivid aesthetic that it produces. Because movement plays a key role in this artwork, such an aesthetic was essential.
Global Hub of Imagination
Airports are hubs for the grandest adventures, connecting people of all races, cultures, religions, and backgrounds with every part of the globe. The dispersion effect symbolizes how new adventures are always forming: new pathways, new mediums, new opportunities to embark on fast-paced experiences emerge from unexpected places. The light streaks on the vehicles symbolize the lasting, profound effect adventure has on me. It’s colorful, vibrant, energetic, and empowers me to relentlessly explore.
Road to the Sublime
By utilizing a long 30-second exposure and a large aperture, I was able to achieve a surreal, yet vibrant and peaceful scene. The beautiful stars can be seen above, and complement the trees that surround the road perfectly. The road appears to go on into the distance, and is lit up by a nearby campfire. This symbolizes how adventure is unpredictable and exciting. It also demonstrates that adventure is not bound by time of day, but rather is always alive – even in the depths of night.
Sea of Stars
This is nature’s spectacular light show. The trees surrounding the Milky Way are positioned to make the viewer feel like they are laying on the ground and gazing at the glittering night sky. To some, this photograph is a sky filled with hundreds of stars, while to others, it is a deep sea with gorgeous coral surrounding the bustling marine life. This symbolizes adventure’s unique impact on every person, and how it can immerse you in different worlds, stretching your imagination in magical ways.
